Grand Champion

Caloundra’s Golden Orchidfest, the Triennial Sub-Tropical Orchid Council of Queensland Orchidfest, hosted by Sunshine Coast Orchid Society Caloundra, was held at the Lake Kawana Community Centre over the Queens Birthday weekend from 12th to 14th June 2010.

• The Orchidfest featured :-
  Displays by fourteen Orchid Societies & the Bromeliad Society
  Guest Speakers
  Photographic, Art, Floral Art & Container Garden Competitions
  Art & Craft / Merchandise
  21 plant nurseries & 3 other vendors.

The Grand Champion was Den. Adrian Green ‘Johel Bethon’ and
the Reserve Champion was Paph. Angel Hair ‘Krissett”, both of which were awarded AM/STOCQ.

Approximately 3500 visitors attended the Orchidfest

Many volunteers from other societies in the region assisted the Sunshine Coast Orchid Society Caloundra in running this event and SCOSC is most appreciative of this  assistance.

The next STOCQ Orchidfest will be hosted by the Gympie District Orchid Society on the weekend of 10 – 12 June in 2013
